lord_lethris on "the change of JPG to JPEG causing Plugins to fail."

I love the WP app, however it seems the process that uploads images seems to have changed.

There are many MANY plugins I have discovered that do not accept the extension JPEG, and the dev's are either non responsive or just being a pain.

Is there any chance that in the next patch/update you can find it in your hearts to change the "upload image" module (or whatever it is) to upload as .JPG again rather than .JPEG.

I'ts causing a lot of WP sites to break when people like me upload on-the-fly using the WP app
(I know Im not the only one with this issue)

one example (and a quite important example) - all of the Automatic watermarks plugins I have tried no longer attaches watermarks to my uploaded images from WP app because they all don't recognise the extension JPEG. so when I'm out and about and I'm blogging on-the-fly , between that time and when I get home ANYONE can pinch my images and claim them before I get a chance to manually add the watermarks - which pretty much makes these plugins pointless :(

Another example is "Autoset Featured Image" plugin. this has stopped working since WP app now uploads as JPEG - It is litterally the only plugin of its kind and the dev has gone AWOL.

Maybe its the way imagemagick works (I don't know) - but one thing that is most defiantly 100% is that all of this stopped working since the December WP app update, which after a number of hrs troubleshooting has deduced that JPGs are now JPEGs since theses dates - which the App MUST have caused in its update.

thanks in advance :)
